A Beloved Tradition Since the 1950s
Vacation Bible School is one of the most cherished and impactful ministries at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Since the 1950s, VBS has been a time of joy, growth, and Gospel-centered fun for children and adults alike. What began with Kool-Aid, cookies, and simple stories has grown into a full week of immersive Bible adventure — and it remains just as meaningful today.
Each year, VBS kicks off on the third Sunday in June (Father’s Day night) and runs for a full week of excitement, learning, and spiritual discovery. It’s a time when the church is transformed into a whole new world — one year it might be a desert, the next a castle, a western town, or even a boat. No matter the theme, God’s presence is at the heart of everything we do.
What to Expect:
- A themed Bible adventure with characters, costumes, and fun surprises
- Rotations including music, crafts, games, and Bible story time
- Dinner served nightly, because we believe in feeding hearts and stomachs
- Skits and special guests — from dragons to sloths, you never know who might stop by!
- An amazing team of volunteers who pour love, prayer, and creativity into every detail
Planning for the next VBS begins the moment the current one ends, because we believe in giving our best for the glory of God and the joy of every child who walks through our doors. The laughter, the smiles, the moments of salvation — they’re what make every year unforgettable.
No matter your age, there’s a place for you during VBS week. Come and experience the energy, the fun, and most importantly, the love of Christ that fills our church from wall to wall.
📅 Mark your calendars: VBS begins Father’s Day night — the third Sunday in June!
